Romantic Cars for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a special holiday where we collectively claim that flower and chocolate gifts are thoughtful expressions of the deep ties of a loving relationship. Or it's the day when we swear all forms of romance for the next 12 months.

If you are engaged, looking to go out, or single, chances are a car figures in your love life. Whether it means driving to a romantic getaway, or picking up a heart shaped pizza and several pints of ice cream, the wheels are one of the many paths to the heart. With this in mind, here is our list of romantic transportation options.

Mazda MX-5 Miata

I can not think of a better Valentine's day than the Mazda MX-5 Miata unless your date is claustrophobic. I like to think of the comfortable interior as an intimate, comfortable place for his waist - no need to stretch six feet to give your date a kiss. There is also no room for someone else, so no double-date couple can stack in to spoil any moments that may arise along the way. If it's hot where you are, there's the option for top-down touring. The rays, wind and some fresh air while blasting along a favorite windy road are much more challenging than some luxury home car that soothes you in sleepy complacency and has missed romantic occasions. The Miata even looks romantic, on the edge of sensuality.

The traditional image of Valentine's Day is a candlelit dinner at a heavy Italian place, probably the same as you go every year. Do not make this a dismal routine; Hop into a Miata and inject some spontaneity into your romantic evening. -Alex Kierstein

What's more dreamy than the automotive equivalent of lumbersexual, a vehicle with a hard exterior and a softer side? I'm talking about the Ford F-150, or any pick-up with that question. Of course this is a go-for vehicle for contractors and landscapers but the good truck also has a nice big bench to get closer to that certain person at the drive-in. With some modifications the large open bed is perfect for sleeping under the stars with your lover.
