BMW HP4 Race Up for Production

The big news in India is that BMW Motorrad officially made their entry into the Indian market with a host of high-end products, but overall, the German manufacturer should start production of one of its most powerful production bikes.

BMW has confirmed that the production of its supermarket radical HP4 Race (or hyper bike) is about to begin. In fact, the full version of the production has already been revealed and it is very impressive. The HP4 Race is the first BMW to have a solid carbon fiber frame and has a rated power of 212 hp.

The bike was initially teased at the end of 2016, and now, in its production avatar, it looks awesome - and this subtly puts it. The carbon fiber main frame in the monocoque construction weighs only 7.8 kilograms and some of the bike's highlights are the carbon fiber wheel, Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes and a close-ratio gearbox. It also features excellent technology in the form of a 2D dashboard and a 2D data record, including a recorder, dynamic traction control DTC (programmable for selected 15-stage gears), EBR (Programmable for selected gears at 15 levels), Wheelie Control (Programmable for selected gears), and Lancer Control & Pit Lane Limiter.

However, the BMW HP4 Race is not for everyone as an all-terrain bike, and is not homologated for road use. It will also have a production of only 750 units, and BMW says that each will be manufactured individually. The bike will be available in September 2017 and will cost about Rs 60 lakh in the UK.
