Meet the Nigerian Man Who Invented A Jet Car

Lagos is synonymous with traffic and congestion, but the self-taught inventor, Kehinde Durojaiye, could have the answer to the city's misfortunes: a jet car that can operate on land, sea and air.

Durojaiye, nicknamed "Kenny jet", calls his ambitious invention "a jet-aero-amphibious" and told CNN that he had achieved two of the three goals.

"I tested it in the sea and many people were surprised, it can move on land and sea," he said. "It's one of those things that astonishes people."
Durojaiye said he traveled to Ibadan (84 miles from Lagos) in his car and claims to be able to move 120 kilometers per hour on land and at least six knots on the sea.
In a sea of Toyotas and Hyundais, the unconventional car of Durojaiye certainly turns heads.

Behind the wheel of the Aero-amphibious car
A passionate inventor since childhood, the 46-year-old man spends a lot of time in his workshop, which is located on a dump site next to Lagos Lagoon.
The four-man married father made four prototypes of cars, everyday, discarded materials like wood, plastic and styrofoam foam. Inside the latest version you will find a desk chair, a keyboard and a recycled steering wheel from a keke na pep [tricycle].
He spends hours refining the prototypes of the car, hoping that one day he will fly.
"We want the whole world to know that it is possible to have some sort of machine that can move on land, sea and fly and perhaps move under the sea," he said. "That's my ultimate goal."
